Over the past 3 weeks children and teachers have been looking at courage and what it means. We have discussed different types of courage, for example soldiers in war time and Rosa Parks (civil rights leader). Children have had the opportunity to write about and discuss when and where they are courageous. At the end of our 3 weeks we had a special assembly to celebrate our virtue and recognise children from each class who have best demonstrated ‘courage’ around the school.
We now move to our new virtue, ‘Unity’.
“Courage means you show your braveness and try to do something you’re afraid of. If you do it that means you put a lot of effort into it, and that’s good.”
